After a period of much change and adjustment for all of us, 2021 sees the launch of the much-awaited College of General Dentistry. It is the beginning of a new chapter in dentistry with the promise of greater representation and opportunities for the whole dental team.
While looking forward to the future we will continue the work which has helped so many colleagues come together to learn and study.
CGDent Scotland (The Scottish Dental Education Group Community Interest Company) will carry on the previous aims and goals of the West of Scotland division of the FGDP(UK).
This includes the delivery of tuition for candidates from the dental community who wish to undertake further education, particularly, but not exclusively, in the undertaking of Royal College examinations.

CGDent Scotland will also continue to host the annual Study Day which has become one of the most successful dental conferences in Scotland. It is the goal of the new College of Dentistry to bring together all members of the dental team including undergraduates, recent graduates, nurses and hygienists and other contributors to the dental community.
Depending on Covid-19 restrictions and our attendees' choices the event is planned to be held at the Glasgow Science Centre on Friday 3 December 2021 where will be joined by Ian Chapple (Perio), Carol Tait (Endo) and Steve Bonsor (Dental material updates).
