Be part of a stronger dental community

On 1 July 2021, the Faculty in the West of Scotland became CGDent Scotland (CGD SCOT Community Interest Company). Although our name has changed we continue to run our Annual Study Day, Study Groups and support colleagues at student and VT level in particular.

CGDSCOT-CIC is an affiliate of The College of General Dentistry which is the successor organisation of the Faculty of General Dental Practice.

The FGDP was formed in 1992 and ever since the West of Scotland has been a dynamic team focused on representing all grass roots dentists and members of the dental profession. It’s our goal to encourage dental professionals to share knowledge, learn new skills and work together to improve their practices.

For the MFDS and to refresh your skills

Focusing on MFDS Tuition for Part 1 and Part 2

Our study group programme in Glasgow is designed to give you an understanding of the topics and skills covered in parts 1 and 2 of the MFDS examination. Using face-to-face tutorials and online resources the group has achieved success rates of 90-100% every year since 2017. In June 2020 we went online and expanded this programme to focus on the MFDS and also to provide a platform for dentists who were keen to reinforce their skills and knowledge after months away from treating patients.
